What I'm doing..

At the moment I'm working on my thesis, it's about distributed simulations systems. That's why I'm not working much on Knack and on my other projects, but sometimes i'm still working on a Midi class and then i'll probably add a "key editor" to transform Knack into a sequencer, not only a synthesizer :-)
I think the uinterface will be similar to Reason's one, because I think it's very clean and simple.

Glad to see your projects are progressing. an interesting subject your studying, it'll surely come in handy if youre simulating hardware systems in software too, right. What other practical uses does distributed simulation systems facilitate.
It's good that you can handle as much as you are handling, for me right now i feel a bit frustrated with lack of time and inspiration.

Yes, it's mainly a way to simulate hardware systems, but unfortunately the system I'm working on is not designed for realtime/audio/multimedia production: it will be used to simulate machines working in a factory for example. Anyway it's quite an interesting project, and it will be released as opensource.
I know, it's difficult to find some time for personal projects, I'm lucky that at the moment I can work from my home and have some spare time.
My dream is to make a software so widely used that I may make it opensource and live with donations... will always remain a dream! :)
